Inconsistency is a pet peeve of mine, and I know I'm not alone in this. That friend who always cancels plans at the last minute, that job application that seems to vanish into the ether as soon as you send it, that date who had a "really great time" then is never heard from again — what is the whole deal with all of them? It shouldn't be so difficult to offer some clarity, or better yet, be dependable.

Sadly, that just isn't the world we live in. Everyone gets stood up and let down at some point, but some things will always be there for us. For example, so long as we have internet access we will never be without the warm embrace of memes. Their content may be random, but the humor will never fail to pick us up when we're down or even when we're feeling pretty good about ourselves.
